The White Rabbit slot- what’s it all about then?
Well….: Alice in Wonderland is one of this Wombat’s most fave books ever. As a child, many a day was spent dreaming of drinking from tiny potion bottles, munching on mystery cakes and playing croquet with maniacal members of the royal family. Or was it that time our cousin Big Al got a load of acid tabs in? Who knows… We can’t really remember.
Lewis Carroll (or Charles Lutwidge Dodgson to use his real name) wrote Alice In Wonderland in 1865, but the fantastical tale was actually based on a story he made up 3 years previously on a very rainy day for the daughter of his best chum – a young girl called Alice. She loved the story so much she begged him to write it down, and so Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was born and the rest is history.
Now, this wombat loves a game that’s jam-packed full of legend and fable (just head to our Asgardian Stones slot machine page if you don’t believe us) and when it comes to a weird and wonderful fantasy lands for the slot geniuses to get their creative inspiration from, you really can’t do much better than Wonderland. Which is why there are ruddy load of Alice-themed slots in the online casino world. OK, there’ are a lot of farmyard games too like the Funky Chicken slot machine, but that’s a whole other story.
Enter the White Rabbit slot from Big Time Gaming, that has come along to smash all the other games you’ve ever played out of the playing field with its fantastic graphics, surreal bonuses and lucrative wins. You’d be as mad as a March Hare to miss out, so let’s dive down the Rabbit Hole this very minute… Follow meeeeeeeeeeeeee!
About the developer
Look and Feel
Yup, the graphics and design in White Rabbit are every bit as bonkers as you’d hoped they would be – in fact, they are even more off the wall than Monster Wins scratchcard with its boggly eyed groovers.
Set in an enchanted wood over flowing with giant toadstools, you’ll see many of Lewis Carroll’s most famous characters running around amok on fairy-tale the reels. You’ll also find the stoner Caterpillar having a big old toot on his hookah pipe to the left of the screen – but more on him later.
The soundtrack is vaguely Indian-sounding with what appears to be sitars strumming gently as the reels spin. This might seem a bit unexpected but it fits in with the surreal nature of the game quite nicely. You’ll also hear the White Rabbit’s clock constantly ticking in the background, which keeps up the game’s tempo. ‘I’m late, I’m late for a very important date!’
Gameplay
White Rabbit is a 5 reel slot with 5 rows and a ruddy enormous number of ways to win. In fact there’s too many to count so this wombat just isn’t going to bother.
Megaways slot
Being a slot that uses the Megaways game mechanics that is unique to Big Time Gaming, White Rabbit allows us players to land up to 7 symbols per reel each spin. As a result, the number of ways to win goes up to a staggering 16807 ways, and in the Extended Reels feature during the Free Spins, there could even be up to 248832 ways up for grabs. We are really not joking. Thankfully the number of ways available is shown to the left if your reels, so you don’t need to bother doing the mathematics.
As you’d imagine, the symbols on your reels are all made up of Lewis Carroll’s most beloved characters and include; the Mad Hatter, the Dodo, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, a load of badly balance teacups, the Gryphon, an ornate teapot, that cheeky Cheshire Cat all done up in purple, and the high-paying and somewhat busty Red Queen (who gives you 25x your bet for landing x5 on a pay-line).
Plus there’s your medium-paying coloured gemstones that come in sparkly hues of red blue and green, and the 9, 10, J, Q, K & A playing cards as your lower-value symbols. FYI: All symbols can appear in small or large size, which means that they can cover more than one position on the reels. This equals more wins.
Alice herself on a gold crest is the slot’s Wild symbol, and she will land on on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 only. She will do the usual job of substituting for all other icons to form winning combos except for the White Rabbit Scatter, the Cupcake and any of the Feature Drop symbols.
Naturally the Scatter in White Rabbit slot, is the White Rabbit. If you land x3 or more of this smart-suited rodent on reels 2, 3 and 4, it will set off the Free Spins bonus round.
Caterpillar Wilds Feature
This is a rather nice little random feature that can crop up at any time during the base game. The sleepy pipe-smoking caterpillar chap suddenly wakes up from his drug-induced nap and blows smoke rings onto your reels. This will add up to 4 extra Wild icons into your game play, each with a 2x or 3x multiplier on any wins that form from that spin. Thanks very much Big Time! We told you that they were good guys…
Free Spins and Bonus Features
Rabbit Hole Free Spins
Once you’ve triggered off the free spins bonus, you will scoop 15 extra goes that are played out on a whole new set of reels all which use the extended 7 symbol positions on each reel.
As you descend into the Rabbit Hole you’ll see that these reels now also include an ‘eat me’ pink cupcake symbol (so keep your eyes peeled for these sweet treats). When this little beauty lands it is immediately replaced by 2 brand new symbols to make further winning combos for you. All in all a very decent bonus feature.
Feature Drop
If you don’t want to hang around and wait to trigger off the feature (which this wombat really didn’t fancy doing after 200 spins, not one little bit), you can actually pay to set it off.
You can see exactly how much it will set you back to purchase the feature drop by looking at the meter at the bottom of the reels – but it’s basically 100x your total stake. This can be reduced by collecting the gold Feature Drop coin symbols on the reels – if you manage to pick up a whole bunch of them, then you’ll get it cheaper. If you collect enough of these gold icons, the price will be reduced to zero and the feature will be triggered off automatically anyway.
This reminds us a bit of the Superbet feature in Foxin’ Wins which works very well. So, if you’ve got the cash to splash you will certainly reap in the wins with it!
Extending Reels
The Extending Reels come into play during Rabbit Hole free spins, which offer the chance of 60x re-triggerable free spins, once the reels are fully extended.
Basically, each reel opens up to a give you a max of 12 symbols per row, culminating in a massive 248,832 Megaways to win. But that’s not all! Even more spins are awarded if any of the reels reaches twelve symbols high. This reel will now become the extra ‘Queen’s Reel’, with added high value Red Queens and Wild symbols.
Play White Rabbit slot on Mobile
You’ll be pleased to hear that this game plays like a dream on all devices – meaning you’ll have exactly the same experience on mobile and tablet as you would spinning the reels on the desktop version. The only real difference is that your controls are set on the right side of the reels instead of along the bottom of the screen, in portrait mode rather than landscape.
Payouts
The White Rabbit slot has a return to player average of 97.72%. This means that number for every £100 wagered by us players, 97.72% of it is returned in the form of cool hard cash . As you can see, White Rabbit is a high volatility slot where you will make small but frequent cash wins as you spin the reels – which sounds pretty good to us.
Conclusion
The White Rabbit slot is an incredible game, so it’s hats off to Big Time Gaming! With astoundingly good graphics that remain true to the bonkers book, some unique and creative bonuses and some really lucrative payouts thanks to the Megaways mechanic – we really can’t find fault with it.
But, there’s no doubt about it Wombat Fans; this is a high variance slot of the highest degree. If you have the patience to be ‘in it to win it’ you’ll be impressed with this crazy and imaginative game. If not, you might tire of it waiting for the Free Spins after 100-odd spins. We say give it a go and see. Just follow the white rabbit! He’ll take you where you need to go…
