This game is no longer available at Wombat Casino. Sorry about that chaps! Why not try El Paso Gunfight xNudge slot from Nolimit City instead?

You may or may not be familiar with the iGaming group Nolimit City, but they are quite possibly one of the most popular and innovative slot game creators out there. Or you may have heard of some of their games as they have created a lot of buzz in the market, they make some very enjoyable and rewarding games. We wombats love ’em!

Games such as Mental and X-Ways Hoarder XSplit are just a few examples of games by this developer that have edgy themes but still manage to bring good game play to the party to keep them swimming with the big sharks. let’s just say that this game is a long way from feel good games like the Wildfire Wins slot from Just for the Win. We warned you!

The Tombstone RIP slot is NoLimit City’s “first Western” in their own words – although it could be argued that True Grit Redemption was a Western slot too. I feel like I am splitting hairs on this one a bit, let’s move on.

Be warned though, the theme can come across as a bit gruesome compared to something like Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume and other more light -hearted storylines. I guess they were trying to get this game to stand out?

Look and Feel

The first symbols you will notice are the usual card symbols – you’ll see those in a lot of other slot games too. 10, J, Q, K and A are the low payers, although they can still help you put together some good combinations. The more interesting symbols in the game include the Sheriff, the Gambler, Skinny Joe, Edda Star and El Gordo. El Gordo is the highest paying symbol on your reels. The whole vibe reminds me of the True Grit Redemption slot which is another Nolimit City Western game.

The reels in this game are laid out in a 2-3-3-3-1 formation. The reason for that final reel being a single is to give the final reel the potential for some great wins. This reel can only show the picture symbols and the reel counts as a double symbol meaning you can win on pay-lines that connect to it from anywhere.

Wild Features

There are 4 types of wilds in this game. The first is the xNudge Wild, which is a stacked wild symbol that will force itself into full visibility even if you land just a section of one onto your reels. Each one of these comes with a multiplier attached to it. Several of them on the reels together mean the multiplier increases, but they can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4.

The regular wild symbols are represented by a sign and the word WILD on the front, these can appear on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and replace every symbol except the scatter.

Then there are the Reel Split Wilds which can only land in the middle reels, and these will split themselves and the other symbols on the reel in half, increasing the pay-lines, drastically in some cases. These can be useful if you land multiples of them at once along with some high paying symbols.

Finally, xSplit Wilds can only appear on the last reel and will count as a double-symbol Wild. When you land one of these on the entire reel, you will see the paylines get a big boost because it will split all of the symbols in different paths. There are vearious configurations: the top 4 symbols may split, the bottom symbols may split, the middle row of the middle reels may split (along with the top symbol of the first reel), or the middle row of the middle reels may split along with the bottom symbol of the first reel.

Confused? Don’t worry- you’ll soon get the hang of it once you have spun a few reels.

Tombstone RIP Game Play

As with all the modern Nolimit City game releases, this one is designed and developed beautifully. The graphics in the game are high quality, with good detail from the background visuals to the slot machine itself. You will occasionally see Tumbleweeds – a staple sign of Western culture – that will roll and bounce their way past the machine and set the scene nicely even when you are not spinning away.

The animations and audio design are top notch. Great job Nolimit City! A backing track plays constantly through the game but can be toggled on and off through the settings page.

There are also different sound effects for spinning the reels and landing different symbols. Watch out for that graphic animation that plays when you land a big win during the free spins round: Hang ‘Em High. as we said, Nolimit City doesn’t shy away from making an impact.

Bonus Features

Let’s have a special Wombat mention for the first bonus feature: the Enhanced bet feature. You have the option of guaranteeing a Scatter symbol on the 2nd reel for the price of a 10% increase on your bet. (This feature is not available in all jurisdictions by the way, the UK for example).

So, if you are playing with 50 per spin, you can switch this feature on and your spins will be 55 with a guaranteed scatter in the 2nd reel on every single spin.

The scatter symbol in this game is represented by three rope nooses, with the words ‘Hang em High’’ on the symbol’s face. When landing 3 of these symbols on your reels, you will trigger the Hang em High free spins round and be given 8 free spins.

It is possible to land a Boothill scatter in the final reel, which will then trigger the Boothill free spins round. If you only land 2 scatter symbols, they will turn into split wilds and could net you some little wins.

Landing a Boothill scatter without activating the round will re-spin the reel and you will be guaranteed a Cowboy symbol that lands with a multiplier of anything from 5x to 999x your stake. This could bring you some solid winnings if you get lucky with the multiplier. Phew! Whoever said that it was going to be easy reviewing a Nolimit City game!

During the Hang ‘Em High feature, you have an increasing multiplier that stays active during all of the spins. These include regular wilds adding 1x, Reel Splits adding 2x, and xNudge Wilds giving between 1x and 3x. If you land some on every spin, you could see a great multiplier. Bonza!

Conclusion

With all of the bonus features and different ways to win in the Tombstone RIP slot, this game kept us well entertained, although it did take us a while to work out what was going on. The slightly gruesome animations and theme might put some people off, but it’s classic Nolimit City. it is called Tombstone RIP I guess. The game itself is very enjoyable and the bonus features, especially the Boothill free spins, can lead to some nice wins if you are lucky!
