Online Roulette Games
Mobile Roulette is a very easy game to play online- that is probably the reason behind its enduring popularity. What can be simpler than betting on the red or the black?
But it´s also a game that has a very rich history and once you start delving into the game, you´ll discover that roulette can get quite sophisticated.
At its simplest, roulette is a wheel with either 37 or 38 pockets, a small ball and a betting layout. The wheel is spun and the small ball is released in the opposite direction against the rim of the wheel.
After several turns around the wheel, the ball loses momentum and drops into the numbers zone where it bounces chaotically off the pockets to finally come to a rest in one of 37 numbered pockets (or 38 if you are playing American Roulette).
If you´re active in the game, you´ll have made a bet that the ball will land in a certain number or a certain zone on the wheel. To make a bet you just need to place or click a chip or chips onto the betting layout on the relevant bet.
The Inside Bets cover the individual numbers and groups of between two and six numbers (such as the Split Bet, the Street Bet and the Corner Bet).
The Outside Bets cover a bigger area on the wheel and include bets such as the even money bets which pay out 1:1 (red, black and odd, even are examples), plus the columns and dozens which pay out 2:1.
Roulette Systems
Do systems work in mobile roulette? That’s the million dollar question of course and one that’s probably beyond even this furry wombat, even though I am very knowledgeable about these things. We go into some detail on various strategies in our systems section. What we will say is that it always pays to play to a plan. Plan your bets and bet your plan, as my wise Great Uncle Montgomery used to say, and I have always taken that as sound advice, especially when it comes to setting a profit target and a stop loss for your session.

Types of Roulette
There are two main types of roulette- American and European, with variations of the latter. The American variety has two zero pockets on the wheel- a 0 and a 00. European Roulette just has one. The numbers on the wheel are also distributed differently.
Our French roulette game is another popular variant- you play on a single zero wheel, but the betting layout is slightly different – the bets all use the original French names (don’t worry if you don´t speak French, it is obvious where all of the Outside Bets lie- the main difference is with the Columns and the Dozens Bets).
French Roulette has one important difference, and that is the “La Partage Rule”. Games that offer this feature will return half of your money on an even money bet if the ball lands in the zero pocket.
We offer plenty of different online roulette games for you here on Wombat Casino, from Roulette Master (with a great stats display), Premier Roulette Diamond (a lovely design) and French Roulette. You can also play live roulette with real dealers here. Right here. Right now!
You can even play up to eight wheels at once in our European Multi-Wheel Roulette, which is handy for low coverage betting players.
Mobile Roulette
Our roulette games have been optimised for mobiles and tablets. Play our European Roulette variant or play on a live table in our Live Games section, both of which work on smartphones and tablets like the iPad.
So spin the wheel with the Wombat and hopefully your lucky numbers will drop in!
Live Dealer Games
One of our favourite bits about this roulette section is our selection of live dealer games.
Yes we enjoy a flutter on online roulette games, but there’s something great about playing with a friendly croupier, don’t you think? These ladies and gents are what we wombats would call “easy on the eye” and they certainly know their stuff.
The latest live games are fully powered up for mobile devices too so you can play these on the go as well if you like. The designers have come up with some clever solutions to get things buzzing on smaller screens.

Roulette Bets
At its very simplest, roulette is very easy to play with just a little knowledge. You can just bet on the red or the black.
But the more you play roulette, the more you´ll realise that this is a very sophisticated game that caters to beginners and seasoned players alike.
There are many different types of bets which you can use in all sorts of roulette systems. You can split them into three main types: Inside Bets, Outside Bets and Call Bets.
Betting “on the inside” means betting on individual numbers on their own or as a group. The Outside Bets are a convenient way of betting across zones of the wheel- so a bet on the red will cover just under half the table -don´t forget the zero(s) and a bet on the middle column will cover twelve numbers- just under a third of the table.
Inside and Outside Bets
We’re talking a Straight Up bet on one number, a Split Bet across two numbers, a Corner Bet covering four numbers, a Street Bet across three numbers in a single row, a 6 Line bet across two Streets covering six numbers and the 5 Number bet or 4 Number Bet.
On the Outside Bets you have Red or Black, Even or Odd, Low Numbers 1 to 18, High Numbers (18 to 36), a dozens bet and a column bet.
Call bets are special group bets that you will find in French Roulette and more premium variants like Roulette Master. They include Voisins du Zero (Neighbours of 0), Tiers du Cylindre, and the Finales bets among others.
Pick Your Game
If you are the kind of player who prefers to keep things simple, then we’d recommend a game like Gamevy Roulette or our 3D European variant. As well as looking the business, these well-designed variants are suited to people who prefer to stick to the standard Inside and Outside bets.
If you are hankering after making a Complete Bet, or a Red or Black Splits bet, then head to a game like Announced Bets Roulette which has a range of options for more advanced players.
Options include various neighbours bets (off the zero and other numbers of your choice), a Snake Bet and several types of “Finales” bets.
