Rate The Game
This game is no longer available at Wombat Casino. Sorry about that chaps! If you like a bit of rock while you spin why not try Play’n GO’s Dio Killing the Dragon slot?
“You know where you are? You’re in the jungle baby!”
That’s right Wombat Fans this slot is dedicated to one of this Wombat’s favourite rock bands ever! Guns N’ Roses.
What? You’re surprised? Of course wombats love to rock out! Why do you think we’ve got so much hair? As far as we’re concerned here at Wombat Towers Axl, Slash, Duff and Izzy are legends!
Whatever you think about their famous hits that include; Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O’ Mine and Paradise City, one thing’s for sure- you are going to love Guns N’ Roses slot. It’s a 5 reel 20 payline blockbuster slot with 8 MASSIVE extra features on offer that include:
– Wild Substitutions
– Expanding Wilds
– Bonus Symbols
– The Appetite for Destruction Wild
– Solo Multiplier
– Legend Spins
– Encore Free Spins
– Crowd-Pleaser Bonus Game
Which is almost as many as Guns N’ Roses had hits!
The heavy metal soundtrack just adds to the spinning experience – you choose your playlist and then the whole game is like a flashback to one of their concerts, complete with swaying fans’ heads and a booming soundtrack. Yeah!
Net Ent Rocks
Guns N’ Roses slot is just one of the ‘Net Ent Rocks’ slots, the others being the Motorhead slot and the Jimi Hendrix slot.
But if rock isn’t your thing, you don’t need to panic as NetEnt have also done a great line of more normal games by the way, like the Aloha slot with its lucrative Cluster Pays and Hawaiian island theme. It’s not all about the head banging (sadly)!
About the developer
NetEnt was founded in 1996 in Sweden, and these Scandinavian slot wizards have made a reputation for themselves ever since for creating some of the best online casino games in the business.
Their slots are characterised by smooth play and top-notch graphics as well as new and innovative game mechanics. Some of this Wombat’s favourite NetEnt games include the infamous Starburst, Finn and The Swirly Spin and Gonzo’s Quest among others… plus of course Guns N’ Roses slot!
Look and Feel
This is a beautifully designed game – one of the best looking releases we have seen from NetEnt in fact. Your reels are set on a big stadium backdrop with load of fans swaying to the rock tunes, while the awesome HD graphics and 3D animations plus superb Guns N’Roses soundtrack all combine to make a seriously eye catching slot.
However, the jewel in this slot is the intro film which is totally awesome – so make sure you don’t skip it! For die hard fans, it’s a trip down memory lane and for the rest of you, sit back and soak up some footage of the best band in heavy metal history.
It’s a thumbs up for NetEnt!
Guns N’ Roses Slot Game Play
Choose a coin size between £/€/$0.01 and £/€/$1, pick your bet level between 1 and 10 (that’s the number of coins you bet per line) and off you go. Guns N’ Roses slot has 20 paylines with 5 reels and 3 rows. FYI: You cannot change the amount of lines you bet on.
Your symbols on the reels include: those infamous band members Axl Rose, Slash and bass player Duff McKagan along with two nicely decorated guitar plectrums as your high value symbols, plus the standard playing cards 10, J, Q, K & A all done up with guns and roses (naturally) that make up the lower value icons.
One very cool feature in this rock themed slot is having a playlist choice of Guns N’ Roses tunes in the background at all times – which is perfect for those of us who are fans of the metal band. Although it is limited to 5 tracks only.
Rocking Payouts
So the question is Wombat Fans, will you be winning like a bunch of crazy galahs with all these bonuses on offer? Well, that depends…
Some of the more lucrative features, like the Legend Spins and Appetite for Destruction Wilds, aren’t triggered very often and it’s worth noting that the pay table isn’t the highest we’ve seen. OK, if you land 5x Axl Rose icons on a payline you will receive a HUGE 750 coins, but at the other end of the spectrum, you will only scoop a paltry 50 coins if you manage to land 5 in a row of the 10 icons, which seems a bit mean to this wombat.
Wild Features
The Guns N’ Roses slot logo makes up the wild symbol in the game, and will stand in for other symbols to give you extra winning combinations (bonus symbols excepted). These wild symbols are a class act, as they can expand fully across the entire reel.
Guns N’ Roses Wilds can land randomly anywhere across all of the reels except on the middle one in the Appetite for Destruction feature (see below).
It’s one of the coolest wild features we’ve seen in a while. Oh, and speaking of which, we’d also recommend the Bounty Hunt slot machine if you like a wild with lots of lovely extras…
They will also expand across the reels and can stand in for all symbols to make up wins for you. There are 3 exceptions though – they won’t stand on for the Appetite for Destruction Wild, the Overlay Wild in Legend Spins (another random feature) or the Overlay Stacked Wild in Encore Free Spins.
Phew! Got that? Sounds a bit complicated but it’s very simple once you start the spins…
Appetite For Destruction Wild
This is a cross shaped Overlay Wild that can land on the reels at random. This feature can net you some pretty tidy wins- so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for it!
Free Spins and Bonus Bonanza!
The cheeky bonus symbol (which is represented by the record icon with the word ‘bonus’ splashed across it) can appear on reels 1,3 and 5. If you do manage to land 3x or more of these on the reels, they will award you either the Encore Free Spins, the Crowd Pleaser Bonus, or Coin Wins.
Once the Bonus 33 LP starts spinning, you will need to click on it to activate one of the features- it’s kind of like a heavy metal version of your classic Wheel of Fortune. Oh boy, how we love a bit of good old fashioned vinyl!
Crowd Pleaser Bonus Game
Let’s take a look at the Crowd Pleaser first. This is a very cool Pick and Click Bonus Feature that is played across 3 levels. You have a total of 8 picks during the game, split across the levels, and you must play and win on all levels in order to progress.
You’ll win coins, Free Spins and +1 picks. If you get 3x Free Spins symbols across all of the levels, then you are going to get 10 Free Spins. The action ramps up as you go through the levels.
During Level 1, you’ll have 3 picks to scoop coin wins (the minimum of which is 60). Level 2 is reached after you collect at least 60 coins once all your 3 picks have been used, at which point another 3 picks will be given to you awarded. If you collect at least 300 coins on your final pick then Level 3 will begin – here you’ll need to pick up at least 800 coins at which point and your cash will be doubled. Thanks NetEnt!
Encore Free Spins
Who doesn’t love an encore? This Wombat thinks any band that doesn’t do an encore sucks more than Nana Wombat at her dentures. However, I digress.
This bonus features Slash, Duff and Axl Rose and is a Free Spins bonus that offers you 10 extra goes. During the bonus, a band member will appear as a stacked Wild on the middle 3 reels. Then if that same band member shows up anywhere else across the reels, it’s Encore time, as they will also turn into a wild icon. This is very cool indeed.
Legend Spins
Yet more bonus features! Thank you Axl, you are really are The Man. This bonus is also triggered randomly- you’ll get a stacked wild on the first spin and the feature then re-spins with various degrees of Stacked Wilds and extra win possibilities.
Solo Multiplier
We love this feature and it really is one to get the heart beating faster! Again, this is triggered off at random and when it does, it awards a multiplier from x4 to x10 on to your winning bet line. The Multiplier can keep on nudging up and up giving you bigger and bigger multipliers.
Set List
A big part of the overall slot experience here is the music, so make sure you have your air guitar to hand. We love the way that you can pick your tune (at least on the desktop version of the game).
Choose between Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child ‘O Mine (of course), Paradise City, November Rain and Chinese Democracy to accompany your rock-out spins.
When the first game starts, Welcome to the Jungle fires up (which is this Wombat’s favourite track anyway), then when you get to the end of the song, the next track will play automatically as if it has downloaded. If you don’t pick another song to play, you’ll be sent straight back to Welcome To The Jungle.
Click on the loop button if you just want to loop the same song, or go for “Loop All” if you want to listen to all of the tracks in succession.
Play Guns N’Roses Slot on Mobile
Likeall NetEnt releases this is one of those games that looks and plays like a dream on a mobile.
Sadly the Android and iOS version actually does lose a few of the features that you will find as standard in the Guns n Roses desktop game (such as the cool set list picker), but it’s still optimised for all devices and perfect for play if you like to spin on the go. We’d encourage you to give it a go on a phone or tablet to see what we mean!
Guns N’Roses Auto-play
If, like this Wombat, you like to spin the reels with a nice cup of tea (or a glass of Jack Daniels if you happen to be a member of Guns N’ Roses) there is a handy auto-play function in this slot (not available to UK players).
Simply set the number of spins you want to play in advance, then pop off and put the kettle on. The auto-play button is next to the spin button your console. Once you have chosen how many spins you want to set up, the game will launch straight away.
And when you’re back from preparing your beverage of choice, just press the ‘stop’ button displayed on the screen to end the auto-play session.
A Quick Note on the Band
Here’s a quick bio: Guns N’ Roses shot to stardom with their album Appetite for Destruction in 1986 that is still the biggest-selling debut in rock history.
These long-haired reprobates formed the group in Los Angeles in June 1985 and their band name was a tribute to the members’ previous bands that included Hollywood Rose and LA Guns. Ten years, 3 albums and 100 million records sold later they won their place in rock ‘n’ roll history… Which is why NetEnt decided to turn their infamous rock story into a slot!
Conclusion
That’s about it! There are a lot of great bonuses on this slot- test out the demo to get the hang of them, and then you can play for real. It’s no exaggeration to say that this game is one of the most entertaining out there.
Give it a go and you’ll see what we mean!
Wombat Score: 5/5
Take me down to a Paradise City for slots fans! Yes this game really is the business, so let your hair down and rock out my friends. This heavy metal Wombat is in town and he’s bringing his Air Guitar…
