Play ‘n GO have had some great success with the Reactoonz series – the smash hit grid slot. Welcome to the sequel: the Gigantoonz slot. Ooh, they’re ugly little blighters, aren’t they?

The grid size has gone up to 8×8, and you will need 6 matching symbols to trigger wins in this version. That’s even more than the vari-grid on 8 Tigers Gold Megaways from Skywind.

Look and Feel

It´s bright! This game is even shinier than the Dog House Megaways slot if that’s possible. Play’n GO are trying to build a whole gaming culture around these games.

Dr Toonz is strutting his stuff again and he’s back in the lab dreaming up his new creations. He has something bigger up those lab coat sleeves. Bigger than 3 eyed Gargantoonz, the leader of the Reactoonz, even. Say hello to the Gigantoonz!

On the left is a handy meter showing you cluster wins (it’s a high energy game with lots going on, this really helps with the sensory overload). When I first fired the game up, I thought I´d had too many energy drinks.

On the right is the Quantumeter (more on that below). Just layer in some high energy 80s synth sounds and we are good to go!

Gigantoonz Slot Game Play

Just like its sister games, Gigantoonz is pretty volatile. The Toonz characters cluster up to make wins and this grid is bigger than other games such as the Wanted Dead or a Wild slot from Hacksaw Gaming. They need to be touching either vertically or horizontally. You can win up to 4000x your bet in theory on the grid. So for example, 6 red Toonz pays out evens, and 30 pay out 1250x

Winning groups dissolve off the board after a win and fresh Toonz then fill up the grid to give you multiple shots at making up winning combos. This is all designed to make you feel like you are winning a lot, but just remember on the low end of the scale, your wins may be less than your bet! Those sneaky Toonz eh?

Gigantoonz Features

Well, there’s a lot going on here like the other games in the series, but they seem to have simplified things a bit. There are Mega Symbols, Quantum Wilds, and four modifiers when you manage to fully charge the Quantumeter. Does that all sound like Greek to you my Wombat friends? Don´t worry, we´ll explain.

Mega Symbols
The Toonz are growing! Mega symbols can land in 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, 6×6, or 7×7 shapes. If they make wins, each mega symbol clocks as one symbol, BUT its value can come in up to 13 (the cluster win is set at random). Each winning mega symbol deposits a wild when it dissolves, and if a mega symbol is too big to fall into lower spaces, standard 1×1 versions fill up the spaces instead.

Quantum Wilds
If no win is generated, you could see between 5 to 10 Quantum Wilds on the reels. Wilds substitute for all symbols.

Quantumeter
That meter on the right is called the Quantumeter. Each win counts as 1 on the Quantumeter, and mega symbols boost the meter by their cluster value. The meter soaks up 100 charges and sets off four modifiers when reaching certain set levels.

Disintegration – 25 charges will dissolve 4 types of symbols (all visible examples).
Metamorphosis – 50 charges will transform all example of a randomly chosen symbol into a different symbol, including mega symbols.
Radiation – 75 charges adds 1-4 mega symbols and 2-5 Quantum Wilds at random across the grid.
100 charges sets off the Gargantoonz modifier:

Fist, all mega symbols morph into a mega Gargantoonz – at least 3 mega Gargantoonz will show. Plus, 2 to 4 single Gargantoonz show. Mega Gargantoonz stick after wins.
Then the mega Gargantoonz symbols fracture into 1×1 Gargantoonz, which dissolve as usual.

Summary

The Gigantoonz slot is easier to get your head around than the other games in the series. I guess Play’n GO must have taken some feedback on board there. Focus on building up those clusters, filling the Quantumeter on the right hand side and enjoy those some features.

The mega symbols are a nice evolution and the 4000x your bet max win is pretty solid. Play’n GO have not let the side down with this game, it’s a very entertaining grid slot.
