The Luck of the Irish Slots
Let’s say you were skipping down a green valley with hills all around, chasing a pot of gold at the end of a glistening rainbow with a pint of the black stuff in your hand. Where would you be exactly?
Why, you’d be playing one of our Irish slots of course, you cheeky little wombats. We’ve a grand selection! The Emerald Isle theme is one of our favourites- who wouldn’t want a bit of that legendary Irish lucky dust sprinkled on them? Not only are the Irish clever enough to play a football game that’s remarkable similar to Aussie Rules (if they’d just use egg shaped balls), but they are also famous for their luck.
So pick your four leafed clover and let’s follow the little fella around some of our top Irish Slots. We’ve rainbows and pots of gold aplenty in games like the Irish Luck slot, Lucky Leprechaun, Irish Eyes and Finn and the Swirly Spin!
Lucky Leprechaun
Talking of little fellas, lets take a look first off at Lucky Leprechaun which features one of those cheeky chappies as the main man in the game.
What we like about Lucky Leprechaun is that famous Trail of Fortune feature. “Well look atchyoo”, he says admiringly as you scoop up the wins. This lovely Emerald trail can bag you some whacking big multipliers (up to a hefty 500x if you go all the way)- but you’ll need to use the rainbow bridges to get there- it works a bit like snakes and ladders but without the snakes.
If you get to the 500x, the little fella will dance you a jig. You’ll also be shuffling your feet with your arms pinned to your sides and a big grin on your face if that big win hits.
I love this 20 line game!
A Rainbow of Riches
Most players wouldn’t think of writing a list of Irish slots without including the Grandaddy of them all- the one and only Rainbow Riches slot – which is probably the most widely played game of them all.
It’s not that this game from Barcrest (now Scientific Games) is particularly high tech or whizzy – it’s just that it sports a pleasingly simple design with great game-play. This little puppy is simply fun to play, and the game has stood the test of time and is now a fully paid up member of the Slots Hall of Fame along with other classics like Thunderstruck 2, Starburst and Foxin’ Wins.
With Pots of Gold to go after, a Road of Riches to follow and a Wishing Well Bonus to dip into, Rainbow Riches packs more Irishness into a 5 reel slot than Father Ted in a green jumper bearing a round of the Black Stuff on St Patrick’s Day. Of all the little fellas that we see on these Irish slots, yer man on Rainbow Riches looks like he’s had a few mind, not something we’d recommend doing while your playing.
Ladies, Gentlemen and Wombats, I give you a slice of Slots History!
Irish Eyes
We’ve 2 Irish Eyes slots on the site and it’s interesting to note that the Celtic beauties that feature on them went through something of a transformation. The original games features a lass who reminds us of Katie Price. Irish Eyes 2 then went all sophisticated on us. That’s her on the left standing in front of her hair dryer.
The nice thing about these classic games from NextGen is that they come with a scratchcard option as well, so you can choose whether to spin or scratch. In the second game, look out for that Pot of Gold you were chasing earlier as these are the scatters in this game and they’ll trigger at least ten free spins. You can’t say fairer than that!
Finn and the Swirly Spin
In this NetEnt game, it looks like the designers headed out to the Emerald Isle for a bit of inspiration and ended up finding a load of mushrooms. Finn looks more Qantas than Aer Lingus to me, but he looks like a nice fella.
Finn and the Swirly Spin is about as innovative as you get. Instead of your standard 3 row 5 reel game, you get a 5×5 spiral with magic keys to collect, Sticky Wilds and a bunch of random features like Dragon Destroy, Starfall Wilds and Magic Transform among others. We’re not going to go into the full details here (read our Finn and the Swirly Spin review for all the facts), but suffice to say that you ain’t going to get bored anytime soom on this game.
Aural Torture
There’s one more game we are going to mention, and this comes as more of a warning than anything else. We are talking about Slots O’ Gold which is another cracking Irish slot on the site. We do have a slight problem though and that’s the background music which we reckon is the most annoying soundtrack since “I know a song that p***es everybody off, I know a song that p***es everybody off, ….”
Aural torture, Slots O’ Gold is! Which is a shame, as the game-play on this game is very good. Just turn your volume down a notch, if you want to avoid a lobotomy later.
That just leaves me to say “ádh mór ort!” or “good luck to you!” Enjoy the games.
