Arctic Enchantress

It’s time to get your duffle coats on, Wombat Fans, as we are entering the winter wonderland of a magical slot release from Neon Valley Studios called the Arctic Enchantress slot. Spin the reels filled with magical symbols and a setting complete with a royal ice palace. There might even be an Ice Bar in there somewhere for a quick Slushie, who knows?

Look and Feel

There ‘s lots of emphasis on the fantasy aspect of play here, with everything from the ice palace, the bright northern lights and the Enchantress herself. She reminds me of our favourite spy in the Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume slot somehow.

How she manages to look so alluring in that weather is a mystery in itself. She’s got less on than the guys in the Kiss Reels of Rock slot and they’re sweating it out in a stadium.

Behind the reels there’s a white landscape backed by the purple and blue haze of northern light as snow falls lazily across the screen. 

The enchantresses’ palace is positioned to the right of the grid with towers and spires poking up from the building half way up a mountain slope. good job i brought my skis.

Closer to the play grid, you can see the tips of snow-covered trees rising from beneath the screen. The grid itself is framed by an ornate, golden border above which 6 Ice orbs are framed by elegant golden decorations.

It’s a long way from Ikea.

The design has the various jackpots positioned above the screen as well as a Win Booster and Gameplay features towards the bottom. It all looks great, rminds me of my last trip to Verbier.

Also on the play screen are the special features – the  Mini, Minor, Major and Mega jackpots which are activated you land 6 Ice Orbs.  The Win Booster at the bottom-left of the reels gives you an improved chance of triggering the Link&Win jackpot feature.

Across the bottom of the screen  are the Spin and Autospin features and the  a max bet button is all set to automatically increase your stake (use this with care!)

Further to the left you can manually increase or decrease your bet with the available credits displayed next door. And finally, there’s the Menu function where you can to view game settings as well as symbol values and pay-lines.

Arctic Enchantress Game Symbols

This is a 243 Ways to Win, five reel game. Not as many as the 8 Tigers Gold slot, granted, but then that is a Megaways game.

The symbols stick to the Arctic theme closely: even the low value J to A symbols look frosty: land 3 or more and they can pay out up to 4x the stake.

There are bigger returns if you land 3 or more of the other arctic symbols.  The pine cone or rose symbols come with up to 10x your stake win. The highest value symbols are a selection of Arctic animals, with pay-outs increasing from the owl to the fox and best of all, the polar bear which pays out 20x the stake for 5 across a pay-line.

Land the Golden Castle Scatter symbol and you will get a pay out of up to 15x the stake as well as a stacked Enchantress Wild that brings further bonus features into play. 

Bonus Features

The Wild symbol can be used to substitute for other main game symbols and complete winning combinations. So combinations of 3, 4 or 5 can be completed using a Wild symbol or symbols somewhere across the same pay-line. These WIld symbols come stacked 3 rows high and, thanks to a Wild Nudge feature, are more likely to cover entire reels when they land. Wild symbols can substitute for any other apart from the Scatters and Win Booster symbols that allow players to access other bonuses

Arctic Enchantress Free Spins

The Free Spins feature in Arctic Enchantress is triggered when 3, 4 or 5 of the golden Scatter symbols fall in a single spin. This rewards you with 10, 15 or 20 Free Spins, and they can be retriggered offering the same amount of spins for 3-5 Scatter during the feature.

The number of pay-lines in play and the bet per pay-line will remain the same as when the feature was triggered.

Neon Valley have also included the Wild Nudge feature into the Free Spins round. This can be used every single time a Wild lands providing even more winning potential.

Link & Win

The Link&Win feature is triggered when a minimum of 6 ice orbs drop from a single spin. Get the maximum haul of 15 Ice orbs to unlock the Mega jackpot.

You can boost your chances of unlocking the jackpots with the Win Booster feature, which adds an ice orb to the count meaning 1 less is needed to unlock the bonus (not available in all countries).

Each of the ice orb symbols comes with an attached value and if a full column is filled then a column boost is added to these values. These ice orb symbols can land and you can unlock the Link & Win feature in the main game and the Free Spins round. 

Conclusion

With a smörgåsbord of bonus features as well as decent base game pay outs, there is a lot of fizz in the Arctic Enchantress slot. The visual features are great with the ice castle, fairytale setting and finely drawn symbols of polar bears, foxes, owls and the Enchantress herself.

The feature where you can fire up the Win Booster and increase your chances of landing a jackpot prize is good. Use it with caution though as it does increase the stake with each spin.
