20p Roulette sounds like a game for a marsupial like me. Wombats like to slip on a dinner jacket/tux from time to time and hit the tables.
And when a game comes with a price tag this affordable, you really have to take it for a quick spin…
20p Game Stats
This Inspired Gaming variant launched in July 2015. It plays very well on smaller screens and has a minimum bet of 1.00 with 25p or 25c chips.
The Return to Player on this game (RTP) is 97.3% (standard European house edge).
Intro
Fire up this release, and you’ll notice it looks a lot like the 20p shot slot when you see the game logo. It’s part of the same range from Inspired Gaming – but that’s where the similarity ends.
Inspired Gaming has created a straightforward roulette game with a single low-value chip.
Let’s take a look at what this game has to offer…
Look and Feel
20p Roulette’s bet table is set against a green baize and laid out in an easy-to-use setup.
Inspired Gaming has done its homework by designing a game that is easy for new roulette players, and functional for more experienced players. It is one of our smartest looking table games along with Switch Studios European Blackjack and 3D roulette.
We’ve come to expect razor-sharp 3D graphics with all the latest bells and whistles in a game. This roulette is simple, well put together and easy to use; a game with solid graphics rather than a head-turner.
This online casino game comes with a set of realistic sound effects that accompany your gaming. In this 20p Roulette game, you’ll hear the ball rolling around the roulette wheel, the betting prompts, and announced wins from the croupier’s voice. This voice is a useful aid for players new to the game.
20p Roulette Game Play
This game is a European Roulette variant where the house edge is lower than the American version.
You’ll also see this variant on our Switch Studios Roulette game. A lower house edge means more chances to make the most of your bets.
Ways To Bet
Are you new to the game? Or just need a quick refresher before you play 20p roulette? There are two ways to wager – with inside and outside bets. And here they are:
Inside Bets
These are wagers placed on specific numbers on the green table.
Straight
This is a bet placed on a single number. Just place your chip or chips on the number you want to wager on, and you’re good to go.
Split
If you can’t make up your mind on which number to bet on, then this bet’s for you. It’s made up of a wager placed on two adjacent numbers. Just place your chip on the line between the two. Easy Peasy.
Corner
This wager is a bet on four numbers. Place your chip on the corner between any four where all the numbers meet. It’s a good way to hedge your bets!
Three line
You can bet on a row of three numbers. Place your chip at the top of one of the twelve rows on the roulette table, or on the corner of the numbers 0, 1, 2 or 0, 2, 3.
Six line
This wager is a bet on six numbers formed of two rows of three. You place a six-line bet by placing your chip at the beginning of the line that separates the two rows.
Outside Bets
These wagers are placed on areas of the table that group many numbers. The pay-out is lower, but they hit more frequently like a low variance slot.
Column
This is a bet on twelve numbers in one column. Place your chip (or chips) in one of the areas next to the three columns.
Dozen
Place a Dozen Bet and you’ll be betting on twelve numbers that are made up of four rows of three numbers. Place your chips on the first 12, second 12 or third 12 – they are marked clearly on the green baize.
Red/Black
This bet is comprised of a wager on all the black numbers or all the red numbers and is probably the most famous bet on the table. You have a 50/50 chance of scooping a win (well just under, remember there is a zero pocket.) Just place your chip on the red or black area at the front of the table.
Even/Odd
This is another straightforward bet. Here you bet on either all of the even numbers or all of the odd numbers on the table.
1-18/19-36
You can also bet on the first eighteen numbers (excluding the zero) or the last eighteen. Add your lucky chip on the table in the area marked 1-18 or 19-36.
Neighbours Bets
20p roulette might be a simple, fast roulette game, but you can still make the main Call Bets like Voisins du Zero and Tiers du Cylindre on the Neighbour Bets racetrack. Just hit the Neighbour Bet button to bring up the Call Bets betting table.
Turbo Spin
There is an option to speed things up once you have hit the “BET” button and the ball starts spinning around the wheel by hitting “TURBO SPIN”. This will immediately bring the white ball to rest on the wheel (this feature is not available in all jurisdictions, such as the UK.)
You can also click the “Speedometer” icon in Options which will set you on Turbo Spin mode permanently.
Watch the Action
When you’ve chosen your numbers and placed your bet, you’ll be taken to the roulette wheel. You will have a bird’s eye view of the spin where you’ll watch the white ball race around the wheel and land in a numbered pocket.
There’s a miniature version of the bet table to the right of the table to check your previous bets and the table history.
Tips and Tricks
Here’s one from our 20p Roulette Tips and Tricks box. You’ll notice that several buttons below the bet table include the bet limits, a Neighbours Bet option (which switches the view to a racetrack) and Repeat Bets.
Click on Repeat Bets to lay to the same wager in successive spins.
Bets in this game are made with modest 20p or 20c chips and a 1.00 bet minimum.
This low wager limit means that novice players can have a low-risk flutter. That said, the bet range is very broad, and if you’re a high-stakes player, you’ll also be able to place bigger bets. Up to 10,000.00 for an outside bet or 1000.00 for a single-number bet.
Minimum and Maximum Bets
Conclusion
20p Roulette has a low minimum bet and is easy to play: it’s a great game.
It’s a good choice for roulette first-timers with its user-friendly table layout and simple betting options. And if you are a more seasoned players that like to lay patterns of single-number bets or play more complex bets like the Complete Bet, then this variant is a good option. You can play the 20p roulette demo game at Wombat Casino once you have signed up.
Wombat score: 4.5 out of 5
